A visit to Bangalore International Airport T2 terminal was organized on 22 December 2023 for the student of PGDM Marketing specialization between 10.30am to 1.30pm. The team from the CSR department BIAL received us at the Airport terminal 2.
The purpose of the visit was to get the students know about the service sector (Airline is one the service sector) and to understand the customer services through technology. Airport retailing is an another interesting vertical to explore. The reason to opt T2 in BIAL is, Bengaluru airport's T2 recognized as one of 'world's most beautiful' airports by UNESCO’s. The terminal has also been awarded the honor of being one of the 'World’s Most Beautiful Airports', the 'Terminal in a Garden” and won the coveted award for its unique interior design, making BIAL the only Indian airport to have won this award.
Ms. Abhirami from the department of CSR BIAL orientated on the terminal operations, architectural designs, Airport layouts and Security Checks. Some of the key focuses during orientation was on how “intelligent sustainability" and also the aspects like ecological, cultural, social impacts were considered during the architectural planning.
To conclude the learnings and the beauty of the Bangalore International Airport T2 terminal is the reflection of local heritage, innovation, creativity, ecological efficiency, and values of social interaction in categories including airports, shopping malls, campuses and passenger stations. The another interesting learning is use of advanced technologies and systems at the Airport like easy check-in, faster security checks and comfortable boarding, providing a seamless experience for passengers from entry into the airport to boarding the flight.

? Better looking signage
? Peeping through the glass separating the arrivals walkway and a departure gate.
? Washrooms have Dyson sensor operated taps and dryers in one.
? A clean place
? A zillion check in counters and security lines to minimize waiting
? Plenty of places to sit while you wait for your flight
? A snack or coffee without having to shell out a fortune
? The penetration of natural light
Suggestion:
? Implementation of Augmented reality (AR) and Virtual reality (VR) technology at the Airport will interest travelers and the public to virtually tour and navigate the new state-of-the-art terminal.
? We are Interested to collaborate for an internships and placement activities.
Overall is was a delightful experiential learning. We thank Ms. Shwetha Kumari for guiding and helping us on the entire process for a visit. We are grateful and acknowledge Ms. Shewtha for the tremendous effort to make this visit happened. We also thank Ms. Abhirami for her patience and explaining each and every aspect in the Airport that gave us lot of insights about the airport terminal.
