Sanctions for Ragging
- Revocation of Scholarship: The university may withdraw any scholarships or financial aid previously awarded, potentially affecting the student’s ability to continue their studies.
- Examination Ban: The student may be barred from participating in examinations, which could impede their academic progress and course completion.
- Expulsion: The student may face expulsion from the university, resulting in permanent dismissal and the termination of their enrollment.
- Filing of First Information Report (FIR): An FIR may be filed with the local police authorities, triggering a formal investigation into the matter.
- Criminal Prosecution: Depending on the severity of the incident, the student may be subject to criminal charges and legal proceedings.
- Denial of Admission to Other Institutions: The student may be restricted from gaining admission to other educational institutions, impacting future academic opportunities.
- These sanctions are intended to maintain a safe and respectful academic environment and to address any instances of ragging with the seriousness they warrant.
