Vaibhava 2025 of Perceptions fest “Satava HR ”

1. Introduction

The HR Club of Ramaiah Institute of Management organized an interactive and knowledge-enriching event titled “Satava HR .” The activity aimed to strengthen students’ understanding of HR concepts through competitive quizzing and realistic HR simulations. The multi-round structure ensured a blend of strategic thinking, conceptual clarity, and experiential learning.

The event consisted of several rounds—Quiz Auction and Role Play Simulation—followed by advanced HR knowledge extensions integrated into the Quiz component.

2. ROUND 1: Quiz Auction (HR Knowledge Battle)

The event commenced with the highly energetic and competitive Quiz Auction Round, where teams were allotted virtual points and were required to strategically bid to answer questions. This round tested HR knowledge, quick decision-making, and auction strategy.

Rules of the Round

  • Each team began with 2000 virtual points.

  • Host announced each question along with a starting bid.

  • Teams bid for the right to answer.

  • Correct answer = Gain (bid amount + starting bid).

  • Wrong answer = Lose only the bid amount.

  • Participation and enthusiasm were also considered.

3. ROUND 2: Role Play (HR Simulation Challenge)

The second round tested students’ ability to apply HR concepts in real-world workplace situations. Teams were allotted scenarios and evaluated on communication, problem-solving, empathy, HR policy knowledge, and conflict-handling skills.

Role Play Scenarios Included:

1. Mass Layoffs Announcement

Creating a sensitive communication strategy for downsizing 15% of the workforce.

2. Harassment Complaint Handling

Conducting a structured investigation and ensuring a safe and ethical workplace.

3. Diversity & Inclusion Challenge

Addressing bias comments and reinforcing D&I culture.

4. Onboarding a High-Profile Hire

Handling internal resentment and ensuring smooth integration of a senior executive.

5. Employee Retention Crisis

Proposing retention strategies driven by work–life balance and engagement.

6. Toxic Work Environment Case

Resolving issues of favoritism, workload pressure, and poor leadership.

7. Sudden Leadership Change

Managing communication following an unexpected CEO resignation.

8. Workplace Conflict Resolution

Mediating conflicts between key employees to restore productivity.

9. Social Media Misuse Crisis

Addressing an employee’s controversial viral post and planning PR management.

Outcome of Round 2:
The role play sessions showcased exceptional creativity, empathy, and policy understanding. Students demonstrated effective HR behavior by balancing organizational needs with employee well-being.

ROUND 3: Technical HR Metrics, Labor Laws & Emerging HR Trends

This round focused on more advanced HR themes:

5. ROUND 4: HR Policy & Legal Compliance Round

This round covered essential HR policy components, labor regulations, and workplace ethics.

“Satava HR – Role Play & Quiz Auction Challenge” successfully blended theoretical HR knowledge with practical application. Through role plays, bidding-based quizzes, and advanced HR rounds, students gained exposure to real-life HR complexities, decision-making under pressure, and modern HR trends.

The event significantly strengthened participants’ understanding of the HR domain and set a high benchmark for future HR Club activities.
