The friendly relations between India and Japan are historically and spiritually rooted. The two countries share an undisputed bilateral relationship. Over the years, the two countries have built and strengthened shared values and created a partnership based on both principles and pragmatism. Today, India is the largest democracy in Asia, and Japan is the most prosperous.

“Both Prime Ministers, Shri Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, during their visits to Japan and India in 2016 and 2017, signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in the areas of Science and Technology, Japanese Language Learning, Cultural Exchange, Civil Aviation, Manufacturing Skill Development Program, Agriculture, Sports, and many other fields.

India and Japan have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) establishing a basic partnership framework for the operation of the ‘Specified Skilled Worker’ (SSW) system, under which the Japanese government accepts foreign nationals with a certain level of expertise and skills. Economic relations between India and Japan have vast potential for growth, complementing each other by meeting the needs of both Asian economies. Japan’s interest in India is growing due to its large market and abundant resources, especially human resources

The presence of Japanese companies in India has been increasing steadily. The number of Japanese companies in Bangalore is 529, and the total number in India is 1,455. in India. Bengaluru now has a direct flight to Tokyo with Japan Airlines.

The interest and demand for the Japanese language among students has risen in recent years. In 2019, there were 2,350 applicants for the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) in Bangalore in the year 2019 was 2350. Students interested in Japan and JV companies have the opportunity to learn the Japanese language and culture and explore careers in industry, research, and higher education.
