India and Japan have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) establishing a basic partnership framework for the operation of the ‘Specified Skilled Worker’ (SSW) system, under which the Japanese government accepts foreign nationals with a certain level of expertise and skills. Economic relations between India and Japan have vast potential for growth, complementing each other by meeting the needs of both Asian economies. The presence of Japanese companies in India has been increasing steadily. The number of Japanese companies in Bangalore is 529, and the total number in India is 1,455. in India. Bengaluru now has a direct flight to Tokyo with Japan Airlines.
The interest and demand for the Japanese language among students has risen in recent years. In 2019, there were 2,350 applicants for the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) in Bangalore in the year 2019 was 2350.
