On 6th March 2025, Joshua Joseph Johnson and Aman Rao took part in Eloquencia, an inter-collegiate debate competition held at St. Claret College, Autonomous (SCC), Bengaluru. Competing against teams from several colleges, they earned the Runner-Up position with their strong arguments and confident speaking.
The event was a great learning experience. The audience was full of energy, and the judges gave useful feedback that helped participants grow. The debate covered interesting and challenging topics like:
Is Western influence destroying Indian classical music?
Is BCCI a bully to international cricket?
Should religion and ethnicity be kept private in political discourse?
Through the competition, the team improved not only their speaking skills but also their thinking, listening, and the ability to express ideas clearly and respectfully. Every round helped them grow both personally and intellectually.
Overall, it was a memorable event that strengthened their love for public speaking and meaningful discussions.
