FDP on Strategic CO-PO Alignment for Quality Management Education

The Institute’s Centre for Leadership & Capacity Building organized a Faculty Development Program (FDP) on ‘Strategic CO-PO Alignment for Quality Management Education’ on 14th May, 2026. The primary objective of the FDP was to focus on enhancing faculty skills in aligning the Course Outcomes with Program Outcomes. The FDP also helped the faculty to streamline curriculum delivery in management education to support accreditation standards.

The Resource Person for the FDP was Dr. Sakeerthi S, Deputy Program Head & Assistant Professor at JAIN Online, JAIN Deemed-to-be University. Dr Geetha Rajaram, Dean-RIM welcomed the speaker and set the tone for the FDP highlighting the growing need for academic institutions to adopt andragogical innovations for continuous improvement in the Teaching-Learning Process in order to improve academic quality and meet accreditation standards.

During the session, Dr. Sakeerthi S explained the fundamentals of Outcome-Based Education and discussed how proper CO-PO alignment contributes to effective curriculum delivery and student learning. She emphasized the importance of preparing clearly defined and measurable Course Outcomes that support the overall objectives of the academic programme.

Dr Sakeerthi elaborated on topics such as CO-PO mapping, articulation levels, attainment measurement, and assessment strategies. Through practical examples and real academic scenarios, the participants gained a better understanding of how outcomes can be planned, measured, and improved systematically.

The programme witnessed active participation from all the faculty members of the Institute making the session extremely interactive and academically enriching. Participants actively raised queries regarding assessment methods, attainment calculations, and implementation challenges faced during academic planning. The discussion created a collaborative learning atmosphere and encouraged the exchange of ideas and experiences among participants.

Overall, the Faculty members found the programme highly informative and relevant to their work. They appreciated the clarity and simplicity with which the concepts were explained throughout the session.

The programme concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks thanking Dr Sakeerthi for delivering an insightful and engaging session. The FDP concluded with the National Anthem.
