Cultivating future business innovators through design thinking!
On April 8, 2025, Ramaiah Institute of Management hosted a transformative workshop titled "Design Thinking for Business Solutions". This engaging session was designed to inspire students to tackle real-world business challenges using innovation, critical thinking, and strategic insight.
Organized by the Centre for Leadership in collaboration with the Industry Institute Interaction Cell and the R&D Cell, the workshop was coordinated by Dr. V. Padmaja, Head – Centre for Leadership, Corporate Training & Consultancy, Mr. Niranjan, Head – Industry Institute Interaction Cell, and Mr. Anilkumar M, R&D Cell. Their combined efforts ensured a seamless and impactful experience for all participants.
The intent of the workshop was to bring out the creativity, innovation, and strategic thinking of our students for the problems at hand. Participants explored a diverse range of contemporary issues, including the accessibility of rural healthcare, the impact of microplastics, inefficiencies in inventory systems, and challenges within agricultural supply chains.
Each team presented their solutions to a panel of distinguished industry professionals. Mr. Nalin Khanna, Group Managing Director – Vertebrand (and former CEO of EID-Parry India, Murugappa Group), and Mr. Vikram Sharma, Head – Business Development, served as jury members, offering expert feedback and selecting the best-performing team.
This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to prepare students for the dynamic demands of the corporate world. By integrating design thinking into business education, the institute aims to nurture agile thinkers who are capable of driving meaningful change in any professional setting.
The workshop concluded on a high note, leaving students motivated and better equipped to think beyond the classroom and develop solutions that matter.
