Dr. Ekta Yadav is an Assistant Professor of Economics at M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Management. She holds a Ph.D. in Applied Economics from the University of Lucknow and is a UGC–JRF awardee in both Economics, Commerce and Management, besides being GATE qualified in Economics.
Dr. Ekta Yadav is a development economist who asks how growth in India and other emerging economies turns into better lives. She studies who shares in that growth and how population change, trade and the environment shape it. Her doctoral research, supervised by Prof. Rachna Mujoo, examined population ageing and economic development across Indian states. She has since widened her work to inequality, remittances and the environment, and she is now exploring labour productivity and deindustrialisation.
She came to MSRIM in October 2025 with a record few early-career economists can match. She is a two-time UGC Junior Research Fellow (Economics and Commerce) and has also cleared UGC-NET in Management. She secured an All-India Rank of 114 in GATE Economics 2021. She was a UGC Junior and then Senior Research Fellow at the University of Lucknow from 2020 to 2025.
Teaching
Dr. Yadav teaches Economics for Management, Managerial Skills, Business Analytics and Research Techniques, Sustainable Finance, and Entrepreneurship Development. She builds each course around a real question and works toward the evidence, a method that has been featured in The Times of India and Business Standard.
She has supervised 12 master’s dissertations and 10 summer internship projects. As an NPTEL–SWAYAM mentor she was named a Top Performing Mentor, with all 17 of her mentees who sat the exam certified, seven of them scoring above 90% and one topping the course.

Methods: discrete threshold regression, panel ARDL (pooled mean group), ARDL bounds testing, and Johansen cointegration and VECM. She works in EViews, SPSS, R and LaTeX.
