About the Faculty

Gururaj B. Urs is a Professor (OB-HR & Behavioral Science). He currently heads the Center for Research and the Doctoral (PhD) Program at MS Ramaiah Institute of Management (MSRIM), Bengaluru. He has the ability to teach, train, mentor, and conduct research in OB-HR areas such as Organizational Design, Learning and Development, Leadership, Business Ethics, Corporate Governance, Strategic Human Resource Management, and other related areas. He has expertise in leading PhD programs, including curriculum development, academic leadership, and administration. He is competent in mentoring and guiding doctoral students through their respective research areas, thesis development, and progression. He has a strong capability in managing large-scale, funded research projects. He is skilled in supporting and mentoring faculty in writing, submitting, and defending competitive research, training, and related proposals for funding agencies. He is proficient in psycho-diagnostic assessments and psychotherapeutic interventions for various types of mental and physical illnesses, across individual, marital, familial, and group formats. He possesses in-depth academic knowledge and application of behavioral and cognitive sciences, as well as socio-psychological aspects, across academic, clinical, and research settings. He is an ardent advocate of the principles and practices of mental health and behavioral sciences across a variety of organizations and corporates. He possesses expertise in implementing and monitoring Total Quality Management systems and processes in higher educational institutions, and has the competency to ensure academic and administrative quality standards in such institutions.

Education

He holds a Master and a PhD in OB-HR (specializing in Organizational Design &
Development) AND a Bachelor, Master, MPhil and a PhD in Mental Health (specializing in
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), along with other certifications.

    Development of knowledge, skill sets, attitudes and its implications for the Industry in
    Karnataka State. The Duration is for 1 Year (2022- ).
  • Formative Research to ascertain Feasibility, Acceptability, Barriers, and Enablers to
    develop an effective delivery model for improving adoption and coverage of Eight
    contact antenatal care in Primary Health care system in India. (as Co-Investigator).
    The duration is for three years (2020-2024).
  • Assessment of Job Satisfaction among JSW Employees (as Co-I). The duration was
    for 6 months (Nov 2015 – March 2016). Funded by JSW, Ballari.
  • Grading of ESI Hospitals (as Co-I). The duration was for 5 months (2009). Funded by
    Ministry of Labour, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
  • Increase in Female Birth Registration in Gulbarga District – An Exploration of the
    Reasons and Impact of this Trend (as P-I). The duration was for 5 months (July –

  • Situation Analysis of Staffing, Roles, Responsibilities and Infrastructure regarding
